Interior Designer (Strong in FF&E)

HBA Madrid is growing! We are looking for a dynamic Project Architect to join our Madrid Boutique Studio. You would be joining a team of creative designers with valuable experience who are progressive and passionate about growing our presence in Spain & beyond.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of Director and Architectural Designers, the Interior Designer will work on the interior design and FF&E direction corresponding to each of the phases from Narrative & Concept Design till Construction Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Take the design direction of the Director or a Senior Designer to prepare design presentations. Ensure that format is compatible with HBA and client standards/requirements.
Develop and execute the interior design direction and FFE for overall project and communicate to the project team.
Coordinate with the Director, Senior Designer, and other Designers on a regular basis and develop and maintain communication with all project team members regarding project status.
Knowledge on developing material specifications related to each phase of the project.
Assist in the process of reviewing the project along with the project architect/designer.
Develop and review furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy and ensure that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings.
Generate FF&E design based on established project criteria, program and budget.
Develop FF&E and specifications for documentation, review and approve FF&E purchase orders, coordinate final placement of FF&E installation with all parties involved and maintain FF&E budget for all phases of the project interiors.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of FF&E specification minimum standards, informational requirements for specification and computer specification program requirements.
Provide direction related to interior design material and furniture and equipment inventories to purchasing expeditor.
Coordinate with FF&E vendors while working with them to select design elements that are to be specified and establish all required information for documentation.
Review samples, strike-offs, etc. for compliance with specifications and overall design intent.
Below are the minimum qualifications that we expect from you:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Product Design
MUST have the right to work in Spain (Spanish citizen / Spanish PR / EU citizen)
4 - 6 years of experience in hospitality design industry
MUST have a portfolio of previous project experience in luxury hospitality, high-end residential and / or F&B projects
Experience in both interior design & FF&E design
Able to show your design flair through a well styled and curated portfolio
Proficient in Adobe Creative Package, AutoCAD, 3dMax, Rhino/SketchUp, Enscape, Specsource/Fohlio and other specification applications.
Can work under tight project deadlines and under stress
Fluent in Spanish & English
Able to work independently and in a team environment
A team player and proactive, willing to grow in the Studio
